Head to Meaher State Park, a 1,327-acre park on Mobile Bay for an afternoon in the sunshine or explore Historic Blakeley State Park in Spanish Fort, which offers hiking and bike trails. Devoted shoppers can hit Tanger Outlet Center, the Eastern Shore Centre, or the quaint downtown boutiques of neighboring Fairhope on Mobile Bay. Education

Gulf Shores is part of the Baldwin County Public Schools system. Students in grades K-5 attend Gulf Shores Elementary, while older students attend Gulf Shores Middle School and Gulf Shores High School. Higher education in the area is provided by online courses from Columbia Southern University in Orange Beach, or the nearby University of South Alabama, Bishop State Community College, Spring Hill College and University of Mobile, to name a few.
